CHEMUK 2021 in review PLUS our lucky winner!

Catching up on CHEMUK 2021 in review:  For the first time in a very long time, our team were able to welcome visitors to our real-live booth at a real-live exhibition which took place recently.  We had an amazing time; being able to talk face-to-face with you about the many product developments our in-house team have made over the last two years was fantastic as was meeting new people with new technology and ideas, and sharing our own knowledge and expertise.  We teamed up with temperature experts, Huber UK, and vacuum experts, Vacuubrand, to offer a huge wealth of information for those visiting the booth – and you certainly kept us all busy!

Gambica brought the experts together

We were particularly proud of our MD, Martyn, who alongside host, Jacqueline Balian (Head of Laboratories Sector, GAMBICA), Dr Paddy Delany (CEO Huber UK temperature Control Ltd) and Steve Freeman (Process Instrumentation Division – Anton Paar Ltd) joined together, drawing on expertise from extensive collaborations with leading chemists and organisations, in a presentation to explain how the chemical industry’s drive to transform research and development by improving quality, minimising waste and reducing cost is working.  This included step by step advice on topics such as:

  • Avoiding incomplete chemistry
  • Minimising use of energy and raw materials
  • Reducing end of pipe waste & re-work

A chance for us to say “thank you”!

In addition to all of the knowledge sharing, and chemistry brilliance we’ve already mentioned in this “CHEMUK 2021 in review”, the event gave us the opportunity to thank our amazing customers for their support.  We had a few goodies in the booth from Asynt and Vacuubrand to share, but we also drew one lucky winners name at random from all of those who made an enquiry at the event.

That person was PGR student with @sushycdt at @UniofNottingham
@NottsChemistry and Alumna of @QUBelfast BEng Chemical Engineering, Courtney Quinn, and she’s pictured below with her awesome BOSE noise cancelling headphones that she won – we hope this will allow her to continue her work in peace, listening to her audio track of choice.  Congratulations, and thank you, Courtney!

We are of course continuing our work in sustainable chemistry, improving apparatus and practices wherever we see an opportunity.  We will be on hand at further exhibitions over the coming months, giving you the chance to really scrutinise any of our wide catalogue of laboratory equipment and pick the brains of our chemists.  If you’re interested in keeping up with all the latest events news (including those taking place online) then remember to subscribe to our monthly newsletter, and watch our events page for updates.
