Dr Francesca Bryden at the University of Hull shares a short video showing the synthesis of TPP, a common precursor for more elaborate porphyrins, using the DrySyn heating block system.
Dr Bryden says that “the DrySyn is a safer system, although we also like them for reduced mess and increased heating efficiency (it’s so hard to get the propionic to reflux without one!).”
