With droughts in the US forcing labs to cut their water consumption by 25%, economical and environmental issues are pushing us all to be ever more vigilant in our efforts to save water.
Here at Asynt we do all we can to keep our environmental impact to a minimum; skype meetings rather than flying abroad whenever possible, recycling everything possible, and researching the latest and best water saving technology for our customers.
So what can I do?
- Make the change from a water condenser which is costly to run, to an air condenser such as CondenSyn.
- Use a recirculating cooler such as the Julabo F1000 – this can chill up to four rotary evaporators when used with a quad manifold! Cycle them off for weekends and nights when they’re not in use.
- Use a motor-driven vacuum pump or local vacuum network instead of a water-jet pump.
- Monitor consumption to detect leaks and identify improvement opportunities.
